As the Managing Partner and CFP at Boyd Wealth Management, my primary responsibilities involve helping a select group of busy, successful people chart a well-defined path to reach their financial goals. With over 27 years of experience in the financial services industry, I previously worked as a wealth advisor at Northwestern Mutual for more than 20 years. What motivates me in my work is helping people with our process, organization, and service. Throughout my career, I have obtained both my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) certification and my Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation in order to better serve my clients’ needs.
I believe that the greatest value I can provide for clients is the ability to take planning for their financial future off their plates. Working to achieve financial goals is a complicated process, and I strive to guide my clients through that process to the best of my ability in order to see them succeed as a result of our combined efforts. I particularly specialize in comprehensive wealth management and business retirement planning.
My passion for finance started at the age of 16 when, after working all summer as a gas station attendant and maintenance worker at a golf course, my mother took me to the local bank to open my first Individual Retirement Account. Reluctantly, I deposited my entire summer savings of $2,000 into the account, which was used to purchase a US stock mutual fund. A year later, with less resistance, I noticed my balance had grown, and I made another contribution.
I moved from the Bay Area to attend California State University Sacramento, where I earned my degree in Business with a concentration in Finance. I knew then that I wanted to help others diligently save and invest for their future.
When I'm not servicing clients, you can find me on the golf course or traveling with my wife Susan and our two young boys. Our favorite destinations are Lake Tahoe, Maui, and most recently, San Sebastian, Spain. I have also passionately served as a member of the Advisory Council to the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Northeastern California and Northern Nevada, contributing to a cause that's close to my heart.
